Technical Skills

  1. Operating Systems: Proficiency in Windows, macOS, and Linux operating systems.
  2. Networking: Working knowledge of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN, firewalls, routers, and switches.
  3. Server Management: Experience with server administration, including Microsoft Exchange, Active Directory, and virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V).
  4. Cloud Services: Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
  5. Scripting: Proficiency in scripting languages like PowerShell, Bash, or Python.
  6. Security: Knowledge of cybersecurity principles, practices, and tools (e.g., antivirus software, firewalls, encryption).
  7. Backup and Recovery: Experience with data backup, recovery solutions, and disaster recovery planning.
  8. Hardware: Knowledge of computer hardware, troubleshooting, and maintenance.

Experience

  1. Work Experience: Typically 3-5 years of experience in a similar role.
  2. Support Experience: Experience providing Tier 2 support, including diagnosing and resolving complex technical issues.
  3. Project Management: Ability to manage and execute IT projects from inception to completion.
  4. Documentation: Experience in creating and maintaining technical documentation and user guides.

Soft Skills

  1. Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  2. Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical users.
  3. Customer Service: Strong customer service orientation and the ability to work effectively with end-users.
  4. Team Collaboration: Ability to work well in a team environment and collaborate with other IT staff and departments.
  5. Time Management: Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Certifications (Preferred):

  1. CompTIA: CompTIA Network+, Security+, or A+.
  2. Microsoft: Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert (MCSE) or Microsoft 365 Certified.
  3. Cisco: Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) or Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP).
  4. ITIL: ITIL Foundation certification or higher.

Education:

Degree: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
